Pro-Palestinian protest at Columbia University

Of the 112 people arrested Tuesday in protests at Columbia, 29% were not affiliated with the school, New York City officials said. That breaks down to the arrests of 32 nonstudents and 80 students, Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Caban said in a joint statement.

Demonstrators have called on President Joe Biden, who has supported Israel, to do more to stop the bloodshed in Gaza and demanded schools divest from companies that support Israel's government.
